After an extended period of consultation, AMII has secured the support of the private medical insurers and cash plan providers regarding the introduction of a new Customer Authorisation Form as the sole means by which they will accept instructions from clients as authority to review their policy or as confirmation of appointment of a new intermediary to their policy.
The new Customer Authorisation Form simplifies the process and adopts a consistent approach across the industry for UK domestic health insurance and cash plan business.
Use of the new Customer Authorisation Form will be a mandatory requirement with effect from 1st August 2016, although there will be a period of grace as both Providers and Intermediaries come to terms with the new arrangements.
Following consultation with intermediaries and insurers, AMII has produced two versions on the Customer Authorisation Form - a 2-page document and a single page document which includes all the same information, but condensed onto one page.
