We welcome back ActiveQuote as a member, as the Association continues its rapid growth of member organisations.
ActiveQuote offers price comparison and broker solutions to the UK individual health and protection market.
Founded in 2009 by technology entrepreneur Dr Richard Theo, the Cardiff-based company employs over 140 people and was named Best Individual Health Care Firm and Best Individual Protection Firm at the 2022 UK Health & Protection Awards.
ActiveQuote’s groundbreaking health insurance comparison website allows customers to tailor-make policies by adding or removing options such as dental insurance and hospital cover and selecting an excess they can afford to pay.
Rob Saunders, CEO of ActiveQuote said: “Having attended the amii Health & Wellbeing Summit in 2022, I was fully able to appreciate the value that re-joining the Association would bring to ActiveQuote and our distribution partners.
“Being part of amii allows us to connect more broadly with the wider health and wellbeing marketplace, get closer to emerging trends and innovation in the wider NHS and private healthcare systems and be a voice for those customers buying individual health insurance in the UK.”
ActiveQuote has rejoined amii at a time when demand for individual health insurance continues to soar, with the average age of those enquiring falling below 35 in 2022.
Rob added: “Enquires in January were 51% higher than the volume we saw in 2022 and 118% higher than the same period in 2020.
“The individual marketplace is a significantly different place to what it was pre-pandemic so being able to ensure that this voice is heard amongst the wider marketplace is important as we all adapt to the changing landscape of the UK healthcare system.”
amii is the voice of intermediaries and insurer members, promoting and advising individuals and companies on health insurance, protection and well-being services.
ActiveQuote’s return to amii is the latest addition to the Association’s rapidly growing membership base, which has in excess of 135 members after welcoming sixteen new intermediaries and four new corporates in 2022, with this year set to be just as strong.
amii Executive Chairman David Middleton said: “We are delighted that ActiveQuote has rejoined the amii family. It is great to see industry-leading companies recognising that we have expanded the benefits we can offer to health insurers and the wider healthcare sector and I think the fact ActiveQuote has rejoined us speaks volumes for the strength of the Association.
“As we increase our membership, we are confident that we will further strengthen our position as a leading industry body, and we look forward to working with new associate organisations throughout 2023.”
amii membership benefits include participation at national conferences, technical regulatory compliance support, parliamentary and regulatory lobbying, Preferential Professional Indemnity Insurance cover, online technical advice and professional support, an education events programme and opportunities to network with industry colleagues.
