Welcome from
Dave Middleton, Executive Chair of amii.
We are excited to welcome you to our Autumn Heath & Wellbeing Summit at this fantastic venue in our capital.
It’s disappointing not to be in a position to welcome you today with positive comments on the budget around incentives to take out private healthcare. However, we welcome additional spending on the NHS, and there may just be light at the end of the tunnel concerning the Chancellors’ mention that prevention is vital to the future. As an industry, we know we are getting better at this, and hopefully, we will have the opportunity to speak to the government about the great things we are doing in this area and how they can support this going forward.
We have put together a varied agenda that I hope you enjoy and will give you takeaways for our respective businesses.
I will start by giving you an overview of where the association is today and what we want to achieve moving forward. I will then hand over to Professor Gordon Wishart, who will guide us through the critical challenges facing cancer care. This will be followed by Yasmin Greenaway’s exploration of AI’s transformative impact on health and wellness.
Yasmin will be followed by an expert panel chaired by Claire Ginnelly, which will delve into the economic pressures shaping private healthcare and offer insights from diverse perspectives across the sector.
After lunch, our sessions continue with Dr. Ian Gargan, who will shed light on PHIN’s mission to enhance transparency and patient choice. The day culminates with a keynote address by Paul McVeigh, who will speak on the power of mindset and its influence on both personal and professional success.
We hope today will offer you valuable insights and meaningful connections as we work together to address the challenges and opportunities in healthcare. Thank you for joining us and making this event a success.
