Renowned broadcast journalist Michael Mosley is one of the keynote speakers at the upcoming Health & Wellbeing Summit being held by the Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries (AMII).
Mosley, a science presenter, journalist and executive producer is best known for programmes on biology and medicine, including the recent series ‘Countdown to Life: the Extraordinary Making of You’ as well as his regular appearances on The One Show.
Joining Mosley will be John Tacchi, a qualified lawyer and former investment banker who recently graduated from the NHS Fast Track Executive Programme and is now CEO at Big Practice, the largest city centre GP Federation in the UK. Tacchi will discuss the NHS Five Year Forward Plan and Changes in Primary Care.
Also, Oliver Harrison, Senior Vice President at Healthways International, will discuss comprehensive well-being improvement, and Karen Taylor, Research Director at Deloitte UK Center for Health Solutions, will present on ‘Healthcare & Life Sciences predictions 2020: A bold future.’
The Summit, to be held on 16 November at the Royal College of Physicians in London, will consist of a day of conference sessions to discuss current industry issues, as well as an exhibition from, and opportunity to network with, a range of specialist insurers and intermediaries.
Stuart Scullion, Chairman of AMII, which represents independent UK medical insurance advisers, said: “The health and wellbeing landscape is changing.
“With an ageing population and increasing levels of chronic illness, as well as the fact millions of UK households are reliant on their income from employment and have no safety net in place for when they fall ill, the drain on an already stretched NHS is a growing concern.
“Pressure is building all the time in the healthcare sector and we need to act now to make sure we evolve to face new challenges. This Summit will be a chance for everyone in the industry to come together to discuss these changes and develop through shared learning.
“We have an outstanding line up of speakers this year, and they will be followed by a panellist debate on health and wellbeing and the implications for health insurance. For keeping up with the latest industry developments and staying ahead of the ever changing sector, this is an event that simply cannot be missed.”
