Voyager Insurance Services latest new member as AMII growth continues
One of the UK’s leading independent specialist travel insurance brokers has become the latest corporate member of the Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries (AMII).
Voyager Insurance Services have been providing multi-award-winning travel insurance and other leisure insurance products for 25 years.
The Guildford-based wholesale broker recently developed a distribution platform for its VoyagerProtect product which aims to meet the gap in the corporate travel insurance market left by the withdrawal of BUPA.
John Peters, Director, said: “Our business is based on longstanding, strong relationships some of which we already have with AMII members.
“Having developed our VoyagerProtect distribution platform to meet a clear need: empowering healthcare professionals to obtain quotes for group business and leisure travel, and managing documentation online, we felt the time was right to join AMII, as the voice of the health insurance and wellbeing industry.
“Voyager Insurance is proud to be an AMII member as we share common values in working hard to ensure our partners have the dynamic solutions they need to service their commercial clients.
“We are already seeing a return to corporate travel, and travel insurance for those customers is really important. There is a duty of care for companies to provide their staff with the necessary protection that reflects today’s risks.”
Established in 1998, originally as a trade association for independent medical insurance advisers, AMII now has more than 120 Intermediary and Insurer members advising on private medical insurance, health cash plans, group risk and protection products and general health and wellbeing matters including occupational health services and employee assistance programmes.
AMII promotes and maintains high standards of professional and ethical conduct among its members to inspire the confidence of the consumer, no matter whether they be individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises or corporate buyers of health, wellbeing and risk services.
Voyager Insurance is the latest new corporate member to join AMII this year and David Middleton, AMII Chairman, said: “We are delighted to have Voyager Insurance on board as our newest member. Bupa pulling out of the travel market provided an opportunity for another provider to work with our members and we are delighted that Voyager have joined us. They have an excellent product which I am sure will be of benefit to our members and their clients.”
AMII membership benefits include participation at national conferences, technical regulatory compliance support, parliamentary and regulatory lobbying, Preferential Professional Indemnity Insurance cover, online technical advice and professional support, an education events programme and opportunities to network with industry colleagues.
During the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown period in the UK, AMII has also provided and issued regular guidance for its members. It has taken steps to support insurers and intermediaries through the crisis, including co-hosting a series of virtual seminars with industry experts.
