The final speaker line-up for the Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries (AMII) Health and Wellbeing Summit 2020 has been confirmed.
Barry Waring, Head of Broker Distribution at YuLife, and Dr Edward Burns, Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Director for Private Outpatient and Wellbeing Centres at the Priory Group, will join politics and communications guru, Iain Anderson, as keynote speakers at AMII 2020.
AMII’s prestigious healthcare event will take place online for the first time in the Association’s 22-year history on Wednesday, 18 November, with more than 100 delegates from the PMI, employee benefits, group risk and life insurance industries due to attend.
Three 25-minute presentations will take place, with Barry’s focusing on ‘putting the life back into client conversations’ – including the provision of an overview of how YuLife is used daily by thousands of employees for a number of reasons.
Barry will explain ways of creating engaging and fun health and wellbeing programmes and will provide analysis of advanced game mechanics and AI which produce HR insights – from activity trends and health impact to overall programme engagement.
Barry’s speaker announcement comes after YuLife were confirmed as AMII’s new group risk partner, having joined the Association as Corporate Members.
Meanwhile, The Priory Group’s Dr Burns will focus on the impact of Covid-19 on the workplace, as well as its effect on employers and their duty of care.
He will also explain how people can access mental health support, including via new digital platforms, and show how health insurance advisors can support their Corporate and SME clients develop a mental health strategy for their business and employees.

Stuart Scullion, Executive Chairman of AMII, which represents around 140 medical insurers, intermediaries and providers, said: “The year of 2020 has presented us with multiple challenges, with Covid-19 disrupting large portions of our daily lives.
“However, though we will miss the usual buzz of the ‘in-person’ AMII Summit on 18 November, I look forward to welcoming delegates to our power-packed, 90-minute event, which will provide wide-ranging, relevant insights from our three keynote speakers.”
The Health and Wellbeing Summit is an annual flagship event hosted by AMII, offering Association members and other intermediaries, insurers and providers shared industry learning, business development, and networking opportunities alongside leading experts.
The event will start at 2.30pm and is free to attend for both AMII members and non-members.
