Health and Protection designation introduced to raise standards of advice
Consumers buying health insurance through a broker can now look for a new professional title that has been introduced by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) with the support of the Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII). Successful candidates will be able to use the designation ‘Cert CII (Health and Protection)’ after their names upon passing a series of exams.

The Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII) has welcomed changes to Defaqto’s Star Ratings for private medical insurance (PMI). The ratings, originally published on 1 February, had met with criticism from the trade body for being misrepresentative.
